Power Rankings - Week 4

So it goes.

One week you win. The next week, maybe not.

I once was told that the average temperature in the universe is 2 degrees Kelvin, so we're pretty hot around here. And Bob Dylan wants to know how many years until a mountain washes to the sea.

Homeostasis reigns in the Santa Barbara Raider Fans Fantasy Football League. So, if you are down towards the bottom of the ladder, at least you can expect to end up in the middle. Here's to looking up!

Four weeks in and the Cheese remain on top after a tie - so no perfect season for them. The Hill Billies got their first W - so no winless season for them.

In case you actually read this blog and are curious, the rankings are done with some science... voodoo science, perchance, but science. The rankings this week are influenced by last week's ranking, the total points scored in the last three weeks, the total points scored on the season, and the number of wins. Trying to take subjectivity out of it.

1. Nacho's Cheese (Mark Diaz)
Last week: Tied 113-113 with the Receivers
Record: 3-0-1
Week 3 Ranking: 1
Twinsies. The Cheese went off, breaking the century mark, but the Receivers matched them. While Nacho's were powered by Dalton and Kamara, the Receivers countered with Golden Tate (really, shouldn't he always be on the Receivers?) and a bit of Luck.

2. Brooklyn Milk (Rick Reid)
Last week: Won 129-88 over the SWAMP
Record: 3-1
Week 3 Ranking: 2
The Milk have scored 340 points, 68 points more than the Cheese, and more than double the Sitter. Oh, by the by, the Milk have already won the Reid Family Trophy for the season.

3. Los Angeles River of Los Olivos (Josh Roberts)
Last week: Won 97-93 over the Sitter
Record: 3-1
Week 3 Ranking: 5
The River held off the Sitter despite Tannehill's donut. Ezekiel Elliott scored more last week than in his two previous weeks combined.

4. Golden Receivers (Ann Parry)
Last week: Tied 113-113 with the Cheese
Record: 2-1-1
Week 3 Ranking: 4
Twinsies. The Receivers went off, breaking the century mark, but the Cheese matched them. While Nacho's were powered by Dalton and Kamara, the Receivers countered with Golden Tate (really, shouldn't he always be on the Receivers?) and a bit of Luck.

5. 3rd Avenue Schmutz (Christian Hansen)
Last week: Lost 73-81 to the Hill Billies
Record: 2-2
Week 3 Ranking: 3
Drew Brees through zero touchdowns last week. That happened twice last season

6. Santa Barbara Fokkers (Robert Reid)
Last week: Won 72-61 over the Waddlers
Record: 2-2
Week 3 Ranking: 9
After losing the first two, the Fokkers have come back to win two.

7. Andover Waddlers (Stephanie Reid)
Last week: Lost 61-72 to the Fokkers
Record: 2-2
Week 3 Ranking: 6
The Waddlers modest two-game win streak got snapped by the Father-In-Law.

8. newO SWAMP (Greg Omweg)
Last week: Lost 88-129 to the Milk
Record: 2-2
Week 3 Ranking: 7
The SWAMP are alternating W's and L's. They hope this pattern continues this week.

9. Low_nass . (Todd Lohnas)
Last week: Won 85-73 over the Wea ver
Record: 2-2
Week 3 Ranking: 11
The nass are alternating W's and L's. They hope this pattern does not continue this week.

10. Wea ver (Dylan Parry)
Last week: Lost 73-85 to the Low_nass .
Record: 1-3
Week 1 Ranking: 10
The Wea ver have scored 70 or more every week. They rank #5 in total points scored, but have only one to show for it.

11. Argentina 17 Big Boss (Ty Lohnas)
Last week: Won 77-74 over the Cupcakes
Record: 2-2
Week 3 Ranking: 13
The Big Boss has yet to score more than 80, and rank #13 in total points scored, yet they have two wins already.

12. Koepke's Cupcakes (Max Koepke)
Last week: Lost 74-77 to the Big Boss
Record: 1-3
Week 3 Ranking: 8
The Cupcakes won in Week One by scoring 111 and were ranked number one after that first week. They have now lost three straight and tumbled four spots this week.

13. Potrero Hill Billies (Russ Valby)
Last week: Won 81-73 over the Schmutz
Record: 1-3
Week 3 Ranking: 14
The Hill Billies notched their first W on the season. They are not out of it, not by a longshot, but they'll need to finish at least 6-3 over the last 9 weeks to get in to the Winners Bracket.

14. Vick's Dog Sitter (Michael Zehder)
Last week: Lost 93-97 to the River
Record: 1-3
Week 3 Ranking: 12
Talk about bad timing. The Sitter scored more points in Week 4 than in Weeks 2 and 3 combined. And still lost. Starting two players who were injured did not help matters.
