Preview of Week 14 - 2019 Season

Week 14 – Round One of the Playoffs

In Lamar We Trust.
The Golden Receivers start Lamar Jackson again this week behind center. Jackson has scored more points this season in the SBRFFFL than any other player and his presence along gives The Golden the edge. Now, wait just a minute you say. Jackson will be going up against the Bills in Buffalo where it will “feel like” 33 degrees at kickoff thanks to 18 mph winds coming out of the south southwest. And the Bills are the third-best against the pass. Yep. And Jackson tore up the Patriots. The Receivers other stud, Alvin Kamara, faces the Niners and their stout defense. On closer inspection, the Niners give up over 100 yards a game on the ground, but have allowed only 6 rushing touchdowns this season. And Kamara has found the end zone only twice (!) this season, both times in week 3 against Seattle. So, of course, Kamara will find it twice this week, because that makes no sense at all. Even if Kamara is shutout again, it won’t matter much as the newO SWAMP aren’t going to score much this week. Mark Ingram II may benefit from Lamar Jackson’s exploits, but LeVeon Bell isn’t going to play and he’s currently in the starting lineup. The only way the SWAMP find their way to the semi-finals is if Matt Ryan finds his tight end, Austin Hooper, for a couple of touchdowns as both start for newO. No upset here. The Golden Receivers triumph, 78-60.

Down and Out in Santa Barbara
The Santa Barbara Fokkers were leading the Silver Division last week. Then, they lost their matchup to the Golden Receivers (scoring only 33 points) and thus the division title. They did cling onto the final spot in the Winners Bracket. Now they have a starting tailback on injured reserve (Kalen Ballage) and a starting tight end who has been ruled out for the week (Greg Olsen). To make matters worse, quarterback Drew Brees and running back Latavius Murray face the afore-mentioned Niners defense. No, there won’t be many points to go round this week for Santa Barbara. So we find Vick’s Dog Sitter as a huge favorite heading into Sunday. Tom Brady may not be the stud he was a few years ago, but he is dependable. Derrick Henry takes on the Raiders this week, and that bodes well for the Sitter as the Raiders have not had the strongest defense of late. (The Raiders D/ST has scored negative fantasy points the last two weeks. Sigh.) Vick’s Dog already got 10 points from Bears receiver Anthony Miller. If the Fokkers go to their bench to replace the injured starters, they will have a chance, but not a big one. Sitter wins and advances, 90-60.
